News:
Stapleton's painting "Blow Me Down Brook" (a tip of the hat to Metcalf) just won the Fay Rotenberg prize in the 3rd summer show at the Rockport Art Association. Stape is thrilled. This painting also won the Ives Gammel award at the Guild of Boston Artists earier this Spring. The painting also was included in the Guild show, Robert Douglas Hunter-A Tribute Exhibition. Hunter was one of Stape's early mentors. If you are a collector and would like a brochure contact us.
Opending August 17 at Banks Gallery Portsmouth location-show of paintings of the White Mountains. There is other news at the gallery as well.

August 17th- Opening Portsmouth location. Paintings of the White Mountains, a hard cover book is available-look for Stape's painting Birches at Mt. Layfette Campground on the back cover. Contact the gallery for information.
President's Day- Stape will be speaking in Jackson, NH on the historic White Mountain painters and their influence on landscape painting today. Jackson is the home of the Trickey Barn (painting to the left) which he painted to help raise funds to have this historic barn reassembled in a new location. Prints of the painting are available for sale and the painting will be auctioned. Contact gallery owner Jamie LeFleur for information.
August 30-Live Interview- New London location. Stape will be the guest artist for The Art Studio-an Interview, a series of informal talks gallery owner Ron Brown will conduct with gallery artists. Contact gallery owner Ron Brown for details.
